A few “semi-retirement” projects
We decided that one of the main things we would try and do in our semi-retirement is buy, refurbish and sell property. We see a lot of properties with our work at the shop at forty, and in sometimes we are invited to clear out empty houses that are due to be sold on.
It was while looking at one of these houses that we thought it would be a perfect property to flip, to quickly refurbish and sell on. We didn’t quite manage to get that house, but the idea was set and we started looking for the perfect property as soon as we could.
It’s fair to say our initial idea of doing 2 or 3 a year was probably optimistic, but we’ll always be on the lookout for the next project – the hope is a complete renovation of a large house or even a new build at some stage. And, if Holly has anything to do with it, we’ll be buying a run-down chateau in France sometime in the near future.
See below for some idea of the work we’re (sort of) happy to get involved in….
